A sweet and special Lady that was a friend to everyone. As a little kid she would let me know if a new matchbox car had come in, and would let me sit in the corner to read comic books for hours at the drug store. Her presence in LaFontaine was a blessing to many, many people. I smiled when I saw the obituary for her knowing she has a special place in Heaven, and the wonderful memories she created. I'm greatful she was a part of my life. I pray all of her friends and family are comforted in the knowledge of how special RuthAnn was to so many of us.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one. I knew her as a child and from many places. It took me many years to make a connection to those I grew to care for dearly.

What a gal, carry on her legacy with pride.

Ruth Anna's face greeted me when I stopped by the drug store after school to buy a ten cent cherry drink. She had a way of making each one of us feel as if we were special to her.
My husband and I lived a few houses from her for several years. She was a wonderful neighbor and freely shared her porch for watching the annual Lafontaine Day parade.
She was filled with "the light" and she used it to brighten the path for many. She will always be a piece of my cherished memories of Lafontaine.

Your Mother and Grandmother was one special person, who made everyone she met to feel that they were special. My son Charlie McKinley wanted me send his condolence. She always said hello Charlie Brown when she would see him from the time he was a little boy to the man he is today.

That front porch, to this day, holds a special and warm spot in my heart. I'm sure that there is another one, adorned with flowers and soft piano music, awaiting at her next stop. I look forward to the day when we can all rejoin her. After all, how else we will know whats going on up there?? Her life was a celebration of all the wonderful things a small town bestows upon its residents. Be patient Ruthie--we are all on our way--better get an extra large porch swing :) Love, Jay

I met Ruthie over 25 years ago. I fell in love with her beautiful personality. I knew her father when he was at Rolling Meadows. I did get to enjoy sitting with her on her porch. She was a true jewel in Lafontaine. I am so glad that I got to know her. God bless all of her family and thank you for sharing her with us at Rolling Meadows

I know there is a party in heaven! My mother and father, Charlotte and Bud, with Oscar and Ruthanna, good friends. She will be missed, I always made a point to see her when I was back home. I have so many wonderful memories of her including getting me in trouble when I was little and she would sit by me at church, at the drug store ice cream fountain, always so gracious letting Carol and I look through our old house. I can remember as a child when she and Oscar came to look at the house to see if they were going to buy it. She is pain free now and enjoying old friends and family who have passed. Goodbye Ruthanna, till we meet again.

Marsha, Marshall, and Justin,
Your mother and grandmother was a very special person. My fondest memory of her is when she and Mary Dunlap would play the twin pianos at the Christmas programs at LaFontaine Elementary. I loved to watch her fingers glide over the keys. I am sure she is playing the piano for the choir of angels in Heaven. May you find peace and comfort in your wonderful memories.
