I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing, and yet I am happy for her that she is in a better place. I just this morning was working on genealogy and came upon her obituary. You have my deepest sympathy. I watched the video in full and will go through it again. It brought back childhood memories of visits with my mom and dad, Mary and Virgil Cook (George's cousin), to Mary and George's home. Many of the pictures looked more as I remember her and family from years ago. She did come to my mother's visitation in 2010 in Marion and we had a nice visit at that time. I have since lost my husband and hope it is as great a comfort to you as my memories are to me, as you pass through this time of loss.

Dear Bill, Carolyn, and family,
My condolences on the death of your mother. My earliest memories of your mom were when we moved to LaFontaine and lived across the street from you. I was three years old. She welcomed us so warmly and helped me adjust to the many changes I was experiencing. I have many memories of your family through the years and feel a real loss at this time.
Blessings,

So sorry for the loss of such a sweet, kind lady. Will not be able to attend funeral because I live in Alabama. Aunt Wilma Rennaker spoke of Aunt Mary so often and it has been years since I have seen her. I have a second home in Marion now. I bought Aunt Wilma's home when she passed. I have had it three years.

My wife and I met Mary accidentally when my wife dialed a wrong number and it turned out to be Mary. She called back when she saw the last name and we found out we are distant relatives. We talked for over an hour and we promised to come and visit her. My wife ended up working at Rolling Meadows and visited with her frequently. I also went to visit her and we talked for several hours and got to talk to Caroline on the phone while I was there. It was as if we had known each other all our lives. She was so fun to talk to. Bill and Judy, I don't know if you remember me from when you attended Zion Lutheran Church in N Manchester, but your Mom helped in tracking down the fact that we are indeed distant cousins. I had planned on going back to visit her again, but my schedule never allowed for it. She will be truly missed as she was an extraordinary person. Our sincere condolences go out to the family.

Dear Family,
I can never think of Mary but what my heart and soul fill with love for her. She was such a beautiful, loving and caring person. When I was in the 2nd grade she was a aide at LaFontaine School. I just could not understand math. She started coming down to the class room and would take me back to a little table with an old cigar box full of pencils. All of a sudden she had me understanding and I credit her for
my math ability.
May you find comfort in all of the fond memories of her.
Marlin and Janet Pattee.

I always loved Mary. I met her when I started at Rolling Meadows almost 26 years ago. She always had such a warm, loving personality and visited friend and neighbors often at the facility. I will miss her sweet smile and kind words. She was such a great representative for the little town of Lafontaine. She always made me feel special and I knew that she was special to me, too. I know Mary was ready to go on that her body was tired. There is peace in knowing that she is now with the angels. My prayers go out to her family. She was a blessing to so many.

Aunt Mary was so beautiful inside and out and loads of fun to be around. I cherish the memories I have playing Spite'n'Malice with Mary, George, & Grandma & Grandpa Baker. I loved all her cute aprons and easy to talk to character. And I'll never forget how YUM her Chex Mix was... One time she made me a batch with ONLY honeycombs and I was so happy! Heaven gained a special angel!

I remember Mary Silvers SO very well. While attending LaFontaine High School, Mrs. Silvers always had a warm smile for all of the students. It was especially comforting during those days (that we all have) when it felt like everything was going wrong, even when some of my friends seemed upset with me. BUT.......... Mrs. Silvers warm and caring smile was all that I needed to get me through the day. Such a wonderful woman. She will be truly missed by all who knew her! Condolences to the family!
