Charles Martin Obituary

Charles Martin, 84, of Wabash County, Indiana passed away at 8:14 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born on October 2, 1940, to Clarence and Sally (Winegard) Martin in Rush County, Indiana.

Charles was a 1959 graduate of Noble High School. He married his wife Shirley Robertson on April 9, 1961. Charles dedicated 33 years of his life to working at Chrysler Transmission plant in Kokomo, Indiana before retiring in 1997. He attended First Church of God in Marion, Indiana and he also held a membership with College Corner Brethren Church in Wabash, Indiana.

Charles had a great love for music. He enjoyed playing country music on his guitar and performing in the gospel singing group, “Oldies.” In his free time, he loved boating, kayaking, and riding the Miami Campground roads with his youngest son, Monty.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Martin of Wabash County, Indiana; one son, Monty Martin of Amboy, Indiana; one brother, Ross Martin of Wabash, Indiana; one grandchild, Brandi Martin of Wabash, Indiana; and three great-grandchildren, Riley McNeil, Abby McNeil, and Remi Rose. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sally Martin; one son, Brady Martin who passed away on September 18, 2024; and one brother, Larry Martin.

Per the family’s request, a private family celebration will be held by the family at a later date.
