Trula F. Cox

Trula Fern Cox, 90, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away at 7:53 a.m., on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, The Waters of Wabash East in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on September 23, 1935, to the late Frances McKinley Welch and Pearl Mae (Lynch) Welch in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.

Trula married Ronald P. Cox on December 19, 1951; he died on October 5, 1984. Trula was a homemaker, as her family meant everything to her, and she enjoyed taking care of them. She loved to host Sunday dinner where her family would gather to enjoy her fried chicken. Trula's caring nature was shown in many ways, especially in the love and care she gave to her grandbabies, who brought her so much joy throughout her life. She liked to work in her garden, loved to play bingo, read, and do word searches. 

Trula is survived by her children, Hilda F. (James) Fannin of Wabash, Indiana, Lorretta Cox of North Manchester, Indiana, Randy J. (Patricia) Cox of Carrollton, Georgia, and Rhonda K. (Jeff) Duhamell of Wabash, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Susan (Michael) Wakefield of Wabash, Indiana, Kim Brewer of Wabash, Indiana, Misty (Bill) Preston of Morral, Ohio, Sean (Millissa) Cox of Peru, Indiana, Kari Ann (Michael) Burder of Sidney, Indiana, Jeremy (Melissa) Cox of Wabash, Indiana, Ryan Cox of Carrollton, Georgia, Jennifer (Eric) Garner of Temple, Georgia, Trent (Christiana) Duhamell of Whiteland, Indiana, and Abby (Austin) Barker of Macy, Indiana; 19 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and 3 step great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald P. Cox, son, Terry W. Cox, great grandson, Dominick Gill. Also preceding her in death are her sisters, Etta Mae (Bernard) Monroe and Ann (Mike) Burnette, and brothers, James (Bernice) Welch and Nola F. Welch.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Homes, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating. 

Visitation for family and friends will be two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Cox Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.
