Robert E. Rife, 87, rural Wabash, passed away 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his home.

He was born to Loren and Hazel (Ply) Rife in Wabash, Indiana on October 14, 1922. He married M. Lorene Gillespie on May 3, 1945, she passed away on May 20, 2005. He retired from Honeywell Factory where he worked in maintenance; he also worked at the Honeywell Center. He served his country in the United States Navy, during WWII.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Rife (Linda) of Peru and Gale Rife (Nancy) of Seminole, Texas; four sisters, Mary Norris of Wabash; Dorothy Shroyer of Avon Park, Florida; Joann Newton of Sarasota, Florida and Nila Hartz of Winter Haven, Florida; brother, Jim Rife (Peggy) of Laketon; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Memorial service will be 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Lincolnville United Methodist Church. Officiating the services will be Rev. Melissa Rice. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Church. Preferred memorials are to the Lincolnville United Methodist Church or Wabash-Miami County Home Healthcare and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
