Richard D. Hein, 82 of Wabash passed away at 9:48 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Vincent Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to the late John A. and Katheryn F. (Varner) Hein on March 10, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a 1948 graduate of Beach Grove High School and was a graduate from Purdue University with a bachelors degree in Science and Engineering. He married Sara Mae Knight on September 27, 1957, she passed away on July 8, 2004. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, Moose Lodge, and Elks all of Wabash, Indiana. He retired as a Engineer from General Tire in 1995. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Melissa) Spears of Laketon, Indiana; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Stogsbill of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a former son in law, Michael Ihnen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Ihnen and a sister. Richard D. Hein final wishes were to have no services. Burial will be at a later date in Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
