Phyllis A. McCarty, 77, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at her home. She was born to the late Sam and Eunice (Blair) Hyden on July 12, 1939 in Van Lear, Kentucky.

She was a graduate from Van Lear High School. Phyllis married Granville L. McCarty, he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker to her family. Phyllis had also worked at the American Legion Post 15 of Wabash, Indiana and retired from Marriott Corporation.

She is survived by daughter, Jennifer L. Tyson of Homosassa, Florida; son, Gregory Allen Keel Bone; brother, Roger Hyden of Wabash, Indiana; and grandchildren, Ricky Jacob Nelson (April) of Wabash, Indiana and Mrs. Samantha (Adam) Fiers of Wabash, Indiana; and great grandchildren, Kaylee Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Collin Alston, Hannah Alston, and Savanna Enyart. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Andrew Nelson.
