Phyllis R. Grossman, 79, LaFontaine, passed away 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born to Russell and Wava (Thomas) Davis on June 4, 1932 at Fox Station in Grant County, Indiana.

She married Doyt E. Grossman of August 19, 1955, he survives. She received her teaching degree and was a homemaker. She was a member of Lincolnville United Methodist Church.

Along with her husband, Doyt; she is survived four sons, Jerry Grossman of Roanoke, Gerry Grossman of LaFontaine, Doyt Grossman Jr. (Jo Anne) of LaFontaine, and Tom Grossman of SunLand, Callifornia; daughter, Joni Beeler of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Lois Conrad of Marion and Harold (Mary Lou) Gotschall of Converse; eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Officiating the service will be Rev. Melissa Rice. Burial will follow in LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Preferred memorials are to New Hope in care of the funeral home.
