Paula Ann "Emily" Scaggs, 53, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away at 2:52 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Parkview Whitley in Columbia City, Indiana. She was born on December 12, 1971.
Emily was raised by Nevin F. and Sandra Kaye "Sandy" (Jefferson) Hettmansperger from the age of 10 years old. She enjoyed getting dressed up and wearing jewelry. Emily loved listening to various types of music and playing with her dolls. Emily was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ in Wabash, Indiana. She is survived by two sisters, Kim (David) Pegg and Jeanettah Lyons, both of Wabash, Indiana; nieces and nephew, Abbie (Zach) Wright of Peru, Indiana, Jacob (Kristen) Pegg of Lagro, Indiana, Charyn Hettmansperger of Roann, Indiana; great-nieces and nephews, Hudson and Hartlee Wright of Peru, Indiana and Carter, Reese, and Waylon Pegg of Lagro, Indiana. She is preceded in death by Nevin and Sandra Hettmansperger and one brother, Michael Hettmansperger, who passed July 7, 2024.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992 with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
McDonald Funeral Homes, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992, have been trusted with Emily Scaggs' final arrangements.
