Obituary

Paul Stewart Bever, 89, Wabash, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:45 a.m. at Wabash Skilled Care Center in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late John Joseph and Elsie (Stewart) Bever on May 24, 1922 at the Stewart Homestead on State Road 16 North, just West of Urbana, Indiana.

He graduated from Lagro High School in 1941 and then attended Sacred Heart College. Paul was a farmer until 1957; then he was a Respiratory Technician at the Wabash County Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wabash, Friends of St. Patrick's Secular Order of St. Francis for over 50 years since 1957; also a member of Society of War of 1812. Paul was proud that the casket he is laid out in was his own design.

He is survived by two brothers, Donald John Bever (Doris) of Wabash and Charles William Bever (Penny) of Wabash; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard, and a beloved niece, Elizabeth Ann Bever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lagro, IN, with Father Gary Zigler of Huntington and Father Sextus Don officiating. There will be a Rosary Recitation at 6:30 pm on Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Wabash. Calling hours will be one hour prior in Vestibule at St. Patrick's Church on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Burial will be at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church in Lagro.
