Miriam N. Cox, 83, formerly of LaFontaine, passed away 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was born to the late Robert S. and Hulda (Rennaker) Thompson on August 2, 1928 in LaFontaine, Indiana.

She graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1946. She married William Cox, he passed away in 1992. She worked for many years at General Tire in Marion, then retired from United Technologies of Wabash. She was the treasuser of Wagner Industries employees federal credit union and former member of Waves. She was a member of LaFontaine Christian Church.

She is survived by a son, Ritchie Cox (Nancy) of Crawfordsville, Indiana; two grandsons, Phelan Cox of Carolton, Virginia and Adam Cox of Butler, Indiana; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Officiating the services will be Pastor Rick Smalling. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to LaFontaine Christian Church, 202 Bruner Pike, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.
