(Woehler) Siders
October 16, 1912 – August 5, 2011
Martha Mable Siders, age 98, passed away at her rural LaFontaine home, at 7:55pm on Friday, August 5, 2011. She was born in Luther (Huntington Co.) on October 16, 1912 to the late Charles Henry and Elizabeth (Rosen) Woehler. She married Everett Siders on December 23, 1939. He passed away on January 1, 1995.
Before Martha married, she was a hired girl for John Swan's Farm where she worked very hard. In her younger years she would enjoy shearing sheep with her husband. Martha loved cooking for her family especially making sugar cookies and noodles for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, word searches, and playing solitare. She attended the LaFontaine United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, William (Susan) Siders of LaFontaine; 2 daughters, Sandra (James) Weaver, and Linda (Don) Jervis, both of LaFontaine; one sister, Geneva Wright of Markle, IN; one sister-in-law, Seany Siders of Wabash; 7 grandchildren, Bryan (Kathy) Weaver of Lafontaine, Tim (Mindy) Weaver of Hamstead, NC, Beth Weaver of LaFontaine, John (Lisa) Jervis of Columbus, IN, Tom (Janice) Jervis of Marion, IN, Lisa Ann Spiegel of Indianapolis, IN, and Lynn (Jason) Parrett of Wabash; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Daniel, Verlin, Walter, and Fredrick Woehler, and 2 sisters, Hazel Bolinger and Mable Obenour.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at I. O. O. F. Cemetery in LaFontaine, IN at 11:00 am, with Pastor Brad Garrett officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to LaFontaine United Methodist Church in care of the Funeral Home.
McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940 was in charge of the arrangements.
