Marie (Royce) Marks, 88 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of LaFontaine passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on November 14, 1924 to the late James Marshall and Nevel (Plank) Royce in Livingsburg, Kentucky. She married James Earl Marks on June 22, 1947, he precedes her in death on June 22, 1993. Marie graduated from Marion High School. She worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at Southwood Elementary School and retired from the Metro School System. She was a member of the LaFontaine Christian Church, Liberty Bells, and the YWCA Quilting Bees. She is survived by a son, Michael Allen Marks (Mary) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 2 daughters, Peggy Jean Kendall (Fred) of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Cathy Sue Wright (Don) of Huntertown, Indiana; sister in law, Norma Royce of Rutland, Massachusetts; 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Marks on October 1, 1993 and brother, James Marshall Royce Jr.. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940, with Pastor Rick Smalling officiating. Visitation from family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.
