Lynn Carlton Young, 93, Wabash, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 1:07 am at Wabash Skilled Care Center. He was born in Whitley County on December 3, 1918 to the late Fredrick A. and Josephine R. (Butler) Young.

Lynn graduated from Larwill High School in 1936. He served our country during WWII in the United States Army Airforce. He was a Staff Sergeant in the 29th Air Engineers Squadron. He was very proud to have served his nation. He married Lillie Belle Starbuck on December 12, 1942, and they enjoyed 69 wonderful married years together. He was a Wabash County rural Mail Carrier for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of American Legion Post 15 of Wabash.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Lillie Belle Young, Wabash, and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Ray.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN 46992. Calling hours are from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to Wabash Skilled Care Center Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
