Lynn A. Ryggs, 83, rural LaFontaine passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home. He was born to the late Laurence A. and Birdie (Cochran) Ryggs on December 7, 1929 in Mishawaka, Indiana.
He served his country in the United States Navy. He married Claudia J. Stoner on December 26, 1974, she survives in LaFontaine. He retired on December 31st of 1989 as a conservation officer for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Along with his wife, Claudia; he is survived by six sons, Larry A. Ryggs (Linda) of Craig, Alaska, Jerry L. Ryggs of Naukati, Alaska, Robert E. Ryggs (LaDonna) of Greer, South Carolina, Daniel L. Ryggs (Maggie) of LaFontaine, Indiana, Eric L. Ryggs (Angie) and Matthew R. Ryggs both of Wabash, Indiana; four daughters, Mrs. Craig (Lynda) Pickering of Swayzee, Indiana, Mrs. Mike (Claudia) Zakrajsek of Indianapolis, Indiana, Laura Hostetler and Sonja Ryggs both of Wabash, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Scott Saltsman officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.
