Lela Gladys (McNeeley) King, 95, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor-West at 12:40 am. She was born in Fairfield Illinois on October 18, 1914 to Adron and Dora (Sherwood) McNeeley. She married Raymond George King on July 19, 1943, he preceded her in death on March 23, 1974.
Lela is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Miracle of Wabash; one son, Raymond (Melissa) King of Kokomo; a daughter-in-law, Betty King of Lagro; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by 2 sons, William and Charles Davis; 2 step-sons, Danny and Richard King; two brothers, Wilbur Ray and Glenn McNeeley; and two sisters, Mary Truman and Katharine French.
Lela worked for 19 years as a telephone operator, 17 years at General Tire, and 13 years at Vernon Manor. She was a member of the 1st Church of God in Wabash and also a member of the Lagro American Legion Post 248. She had currently been living at Miller's Merry Manor for the last eight years.
Graveside Services will be conducted at Friends Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Wednesday August 18, 2010. Officiating the services will be Pastor Guy Provance.
