Judy K. McKenzie

Judy K. McKenzie, 79, of Lagro, Indiana, passed away at 11:34 p.m., on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at The Waters of Wabash West in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on May 14, 1947, to Jay and Goldie (Beverly) Shelton in Drift, Kentucky.

Judy was a 1965 graduate of Wabash High School. She married William "Skeeter" McKenzie on July 10, 1980; he died on September 24, 2021. She worked at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation in LaFontaine, Indiana until her retirement. Judy was a member of Erie Street Baptist Church in Wabash, Indiana. She enjoyed bowling, thrifting, and searching for treasurers at yard sales. She also liked M&M's and collecting little trinkets. Above all, Judy loved the time she spent with her family and her grandchildren. 

Judy is survived by her children, Jeff (Michelle) Shelton of Lagro, Indiana, Chris (Jennifer) Shelton of Roann, Indiana, Adam McKenzie and Faye Rowe, both of Wabash, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jeffery Miles Shelton, and sister, Emmalene Powers.

Visitation for friends and family will be on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Homes, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN 46992.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Lagro Cemetery in Lagro, Indiana.
