James E. Haggerty, 70, a lifetime resident of rural LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Saul and Helen (Spence) Haggerty on November 1, 1943 in Marion, Indiana.

James was in the last graduating class at LaFontaine High School. He married Sandra K. McFarren on November 17, 1962, she passed away October 25, 2003. He worked in machine repair for Genral Tire of Marion, Indiana, then retired from Chrysler of Kokomo, Indiana.

He is survived by two sons, Todd L. Haggerty (Belinda) of Wabash, Indiana and Matthew J. Haggerty of Mt. Etna, Indiana; three grandchildren, Deborah Haggerty of LaFontaine, Indiana, Kevin Haggerty and Kyle Haggerty both of Wabash, Indiana; great grandchild, Logan Booher of LaFontaine, Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. David (Brenda) Tomson of Urbana, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.
