Frederick "Fred" R. Powell, 62, of LaFontaine, Indiana passed away at 8:54 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. He was born to Earl L. and Mary J. (Miller) Powell on December 9, 1963, in Huntington, Indiana.

Fred worked at Wendt's Crane in Wabash, Indiana. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Fred is survived by one brother, John (Rebecca) Powell of LaFontaine, Indiana; and one sister, Brenda (Eric) Lantz of Paw Paw, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Powell.

Private graveside services for the family will be held at LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.
