Franklin D. Brandenburg, 84, rural Wabash, passed away 12:45 p.m.on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 peacefully at his home. He was born to the late Charles and Elta (Caufman) Brandenburg on May 2, 1926 in Silver Lake, Indiana.

He graduated in 1945 from Sidney High School. He married Betty Garrison on October 2, 1948, she survives. He retired from Diehl Machines after 40 years as a Chief Industrial Engineer. He was a member of Church of Christ in Treaty. He served his country in the United States Army.

Frank had a great zeal for life, a passion for getting things done, and an unlimited sense of humor. His life's focus was his Lord and his family. His smile, laughter, and helping hands will be missed by many.

Along with Betty his wife of 62 years; he is survived by a son, Rick Brandenburg (Janice) of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Mrs. Cindy Flint (Steven) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Doris Ebbinghouse of North Manchester and June Brandenburg of Kokomo; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, along with his parents.

Memorial Service for Franklin D. Brandenburg  will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th at Church of Christ at Treaty, 6739 S. 50 E., Wabash, Indiana. Officiating the services will be Pastor Doug Oakes.

Calling for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, March 12th at the church. Preferred memorials are to the Church of Christ at Treaty Youth Program, 6739 S. 50 E., Wabash, Indiana 46992.
