Obituary

Frank John Tovlin, 89, Wabash, passed away 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Bickford Cottage in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late Andrew and Anna (nee Gajdzik) Tovlin in Duquesne, Pennsylvania on October 6, 1921.

He married Ann Durkota on August 5, 1946, they were married for 48 years; she passed away January of 1995. He retired from U.S. Steel as a crane man. He served his country in the United States Marines, in the 4th Marine Division during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific areas. He received the Purple Hear,t wounded in action Iwo Jima. His unit was awarded the Presidentail Unit Citation. He was honorable discharged November 5, 1945. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and going on car rides. He won many trophies for bowling when he lived in Pennsylvania. He was member of St. Bernard Catholic Church of Wabash, Indiana.

He is survived by a daughter, Sondra Kaselonis (Frank) of Wabash, Indiana; grandson, Scott Kaselonis (Kristin) of Westfield, Indiana. Preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and John Tovlin and two sisters, Mary August and Ann Egnatz..

Catholic Mass Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 207 N. Cass Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the service will be Father Sextus Don. Burial will be at  a later date in Pennsylvania.
