Obituary
Ernest E. (Ernie) Swafford, 77, of Silver Lake, IN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 12:35 am at Millers Merry Manor. He was born in Wabash on August 21, 1932 to William Harry Swafford and Bertha Lucille Hall. His father passed away before his birth. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Edward Ralph Easterday. They precede him in death.
Ernie married Nancy Moser of Wabash, she survives. He was retired but in his later years operated produce stands around Wabash County. He was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed all animals, especially birds. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Along with his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Johnny (Chrissy) Swafford of Wabash, and Ernest William Swafford, formerly of Wabash; 3 daughters Nancy (Jim) Tyler of Lagro, Sue Black of Wabash, and Jenny (Bill) Halverson of Silver Lake; 3 brothers, Lester (Joan) Easterday of Andrews, Carl (Bonnie) Easterday, and Jim Easterday, both of Wabash; one sister, Lois Murray of Wabash; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lee; 4 brothers, Don, Larry, Rolland, Verlyn; and one sister, Myrtle.
Funeral Services will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 with Pastor Guy Provance officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.
Memorials may be directed to the family to help with final expenses.
