Obituary

Ellis Winston Pickering, Wabash, 64, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family and friends at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Autumn Ridge Healthcare Center in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late Ellis W. and Ramey (Webb) Pickering on May 17, 1946 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a truck driver.  He was a member of Potters House Ministries in Wabash. Ellis helped with the Wabash County Jail Ministry. He was Vice President of Potters House Ministries. He was a great encourager and help to many.

He is survived by son, Anthony Pickering; two step sons, Buddy Williams and Michael Williams both of Wabash; step daughter, Mrs. Mark (Robin) Williams of Wabash; grandchildren, Joshua Williams (Stephanie), Jeremy Williams, Rachel Williams, Michael Williams, Trever Williams, and Terissa Williams; great grandchild, Zachary Williams; three sisters, Lawanda Faye Lane of Wabash, Lillie Whitt of Mount Airy, North Carolina, and Mrs. Sam (Inez) Hewitt of Wabash. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Pastor Bernice Pickering. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Wabash County, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Potters House Ministries, 774 Pike Street, Wabash, Indiana.
