Doris M. Crandell, 71, Wabash, passed away at 3:37 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born to the late Basil and Enid (Brush) Ellis on May 5, 1940 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She graduated from Blackhawk High School in 1958. She married Dan H. Crandell on November 22, 1958, he survives. She was a homemaker. Doris was known as Grandma Doris to the kids at her daughters daycare and loved by all.

Along with her husband, Dan; she is survived by three sons, Derrick Crandell (Sharron) of Ash Grove, Missouri, Darren Crandell of Fort Wayne, and Doug Crandell (Nancy) of Douglasville, Georgia; two daughters, Dina Collins of Wabash and Mrs. Scott (Dani) Lorenz of Wabash; three sisters, Mrs. Vern (Genie) Pound of Blackhawk, Mrs. Rosie Criss of Realsville, and Mrs. Linda Campbell of Blackhawk; six grandchildren, Nichole Crandell, Casey Lorenz, Kennedy Crandell, Katelyn Crandell, Madison Crandell, and Jessica Lorenz. She was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Lee Crandell and brother, Max Ellis.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Pastor David Phillips. Burial will follow in Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the funeral home
