Deborah "Debbie" D. Sutton

Deborah "Debbie" D. Sutton, 79, of New Paris, Indiana, formerly of Marion, Indiana, passed away at 2:57 a.m., on Friday, June 12, 2026, at My Mother's House in Bristol, Indiana. She was born on April 4, 1947, to the late Charles Johnson and Mildred (Hinchman) Johnson in Huntington, Indiana.

Debbie was a 1965 graduate of Southwood High School. She was a member of New Paris Missionary Church in New Paris, Indiana. Debbie had a deep love for her horses and dogs, where she found great joy in caring for them. She especially enjoyed traveling and spending her winters in St. Maarten and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Above all, her family was the most important to her and she cherished the time spent with them.

Debbie is survived by her husband, John Sutton of Marion, Indiana; sons, John Sutton II of Marion, Indiana, and Joseph (Shelly) Sutton of Wabash, Indiana; daughters, Laura (Sam) Fry of New Paris, Indiana, and Lisa (Bob) Rankin of Somerset, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Scarlet (Jeremy) Daniels, JJ Fry, Jordan Shannon, Sophia Henderson, Levi Sutton, Elijah Sutton, and Isaiah Sutton; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Bill) Curtis of Warsaw, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Seth Zahalka.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Homes, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine, Indiana 46940 with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation for friends and family will be on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
