Darwin L. Rose Jr., 78, Wabash, passed away 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Wabash, Indiana. He was born to the late Darwin Sr. and Alice (Sammons) Rose on January 20. 1933 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

He served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He married Luna Spears, she passed away May 17, 2000; then he married Ruth Prater on March 27, 2001, she survives. He retired from Swingline, Inc. after 29 years.

Along with his wife, Ruth; he is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Rose (Susan) of Treaty and Mark D. Rose (Laura) of Elkhart; three step sons, Tim Prater (Barb), Dan Prater (Carolyn), and Johnny Prater (Sherry) all of Wabash; step daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Connie) Ratliff of Wabash; three brothers, John Rose, Mack Rose (Shirley), and Joe Rose (Mary) all of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; sister, Mrs. John (Joan) Adams of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, and twenty-five great step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sisters, along with is parents and first wife, Luna.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Christian Heritage Church, 2776 River Road, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Pastor Tim Prater. Burial will follow in the Falls Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana 46992.

Visitation for family and friends will be 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
