Claudia J. Ryggs, 79, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 10:48 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her residence in Wabash, Indiana. She was born on November 12, 1945, to Clyde and Idabelle (Reece) Stoner in Peru, Indiana.

Claudia was a 1964 graduate of Southwood High School. After high school, she obtained her bachelor's degree from Taylor University and Ball State University. She worked as a teacher for MSD in Wabash, Indiana for many years, then later retired. She married her husband Lynn A. Ryggs on December 12, 1974. He passed away on December 12, 2012.

Claudia is survived by five sons, Jerry L. Ryggs of Naukati, Alaska, Robert E. (LaDonna) Ryggs of Greer, South Carolina, Daniel L. (Maggie) Ryggs of Wabash, Indiana, Eric L. (Angie) Ryggs of Wabash, Indiana, Matthew (Angela) Ryggs of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Claudia (Mike) Zakrajsek of Indianapolis, Indiana, Laura Hostetler of Huntington, Indiana, Sonja Ryggs of Wabash, Indiana; two sisters, Jo Lynn O'Connell of Wabash, Indiana, April Kiser of Kentucky; and twenty-one grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Idabelle Stoner; her husband, Lynn A. Ryggs; one son, Larry A. Ryggs; one daughter, Lynda Pickering; and one brother, Richard Stoner.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 South Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Burial will follow at LaFontaine I.O.O.F Cemetery in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
