Claude Lane Jr., 91, LaFontaine, passed away at 9:15 pm on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine. He was born on August 29, 1920 to the late Claude Sr. and Bertha Celine (Rolin) Lane in Valley Falls, Kansas. He married Ruby Frances Stair on January 27, 1952, she survives. Claude graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1940. He served our country in the United States Air Force during WWII European Theater. He worked for MSD of Wabash County, was a Plasterer, and worked at Hoosier Metal Fabricators at Gas City. He retired in 1990. He attended Church and was a member of LaFontaine United Methodist Church. Along with his wife Ruby, he is survived by 3 sons, Charles Lane, Fairmount, Rex Allen (Cathy) Lane, Marion, Ray Alvin (Carolyn) Lane, Marion; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two half brothers. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940 with Pastor Brad Garrett officiating. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation and LaFontaine United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
