Obituary

Artie Edgar Moore, 79, a life time resident of Wabash, passed away 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. He was born to the late William V. and Agnes (Campbell) Moore on September 24, 1931 in Wabash, Indiana.

He married Rosa Lee Horner on April 10, 1952 in Andrews, Indiana by Artie's Uncle, Rev. Gilbert Pegg. He served his country in the National Guard, during 1950 to 1953 and United States Army, during 1954 to 1960. Artie worked for General Electric, Honeywells and then retired from Fisher Body in Marion, Indiana in 1988. He attended New Life Baptist Church of Wabash. He loved flowers, fishing, mushroom hunting and his grandkids. He also loved food and fellowshipping.

Along with his wife, Rosa Lee; he is survived by two daughters, Ronda Moore of Fort Worth, Texas and Mrs. Chuck (Stacy) McColley of Wabash; two brothers, Berton Moore (Phyllis) and Marion Moore (Shirley) both of Wabash; sister, Mrs. Dorthea Booth of Wabash; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, sister, and two great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Rev. Robert VanCise. Burial will follow in the Mississinewa Cemetery in Somerset, Indiana.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to New Life Baptist Church, 4381 W. 300 N., Wabash, Indiana 46992. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcdonaldfunerals.com
