Arden Devon Heagy

Arden Devon Heagy, 93, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at his residence. He was born on February 22, 1933, to Carl and Ruth (Goodrich) Heagy. 

Arden married Julia Mae Cooper on April 4, 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and was a member of the Lagro American Legion. Arden worked at Celotex, retired from REMC, and then started his own business, Arden's Electric, in 1976. Arden had many hobbies, including fishing, flying, cutting wood, and sitting on his porch, waving to everyone who passed by.

Arden is survived by his sons, Kelby (Teresa) Heagy and Ron (Denise) Heagy; grandchildren, Devon (Emmy) Heagy, Whitney (Devyn) Eakright, Kegan (Kat) Heagy, and Justin Heagy; great grandchildren, Ryan and River. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Daryl Heagy, and siblings, Maxine, Louise, Jean, and Gerald. He is also preceded in death by his good friend, Bessie Mae "Beck" Behny. 

Arden generously donated his body to the Anatomical Education Program at Indiana University School of Medicine. This gift will contribute significantly to the advancement of health science education in the state of Indiana. Those, like Arden, who decide to bequeath their bodies to the health sciences have made a significant contribution that benefits the quality of life and care of the living.

Arden's final resting place will be at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.
