Alvin L. Wiley, 78, Wabash, passed away at 3:20 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at his home. He was born in Grant County on June 29, 1933 to the late Garl and Opal Forrester Wiley.
He was an 1951 graduate of Chester High School. Al served our country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He married Shelby Hill Miller on November 18, 1978, she survives. He worked for Celotex in Lagro for 44 years retiring in 1995. Al was active at Wabash Friends Church and Habitat for Humanity.
Along with his wife he is survived by a son, Ricky Wiley (Cheryl), Palm Beach, FL; stepson, Scott Miller (Mia), Wabash; a daughter, Victoria Morris (Jay), Converse, TX; a brother, Ronald Wiley (Bonnie), Urbana; 2 sisters, Mrs. Herman (Bonnie) Ritenour, Warsaw; and Patricia Floor, Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Lewis, Grant Sailors, Wabash; Pauline Morris, Ann Marie Morris, Texas; Deanna Wiley, Florida; and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, with Pastor Alex Falder officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2012 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
