Obituary

Alva Allen Keiffer, 91, passed away at 1:40 pm Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Parkview Hospital of Huntington. He was a resident of the Heritage of Huntington for the last 3 years with his wife of 70 years, Dorothy (Nave) whom he married October 6, 1940.

He was born on September 27, 1919 to Mason and Ora (Boller) Keiffer. He was a retired farmer living in Wayne Township his entire life. After retirement, he enjoyed his home in Ft. Meyer, FL in the winter months. He was a member of the Banquo Christian Church.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter Jean (J. R.) Bentley; and a son, Robert (Janice) Keiffer, both of LaFontaine; one brother, Clyde Keiffer of Huntington; 2 sisters, Delores Zuber of Virginia; and Edith McMillian of Rural LaFontaine; 6 Grandchildren; and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frank Keiffer, and a sister, Grace Munro.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940 with Pastors Brad Kelly and Gary Riley officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, IN 46940.
