Marjorie Mae Brewer the daughter of the late Donald and Grace (Larrew) Shoemaker was born on October 30, 1921 in Laketon, Indiana. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2012 in LaFontaine, Indiana in the Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center, where she has been a patient for the past two years and seven months.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Sally (Earl) Landrum of Marion, Indiana and two sons, Don Brewer (Nancy) of North Manchester, Indiana and Jim Brewer (Melissa) LaFontaine, Indiana. Her husband, Jack passed away March 11, 1998. Besides her sons and daughter she is survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by step mother, Delphia Shoemaker, sister, Virginia Thompson; two half sisters, Marilyn Hartzler and Anna Keffaber; half brother, Gerald Shoemaker, along with her parents.
She was very active in the Lincolnville United Methodist Church. She worked and retired from Wabash Magnetics. She was a hard worker and a great cook. She had no problem staying busy in her church, in the community, and in her home in LaFontaine. She belonged to the Home Extension and The Good Neighbors' Clubs of Wabash County, Indiana.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940, with Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Huntington County, Indiana.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association, 6324 Constitution Drive Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcdonaldfunerals.com
