Shirley A. (Gatchel) Hobbs

Shirley A. Hobbs, 79, of Wabash, Indiana passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Autumn Ridge Healthcare Center in Wabash, Indiana. She was born to the late Foster Gatchel Sr. and Florence (Hart) Gatchel on October 11, 1935 in Wabash, Indiana.
 

Shirley married Melvin Richard Hobbs on July 26, 1957, he passed away on August 16, 2003. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wabash, Indiana. She was a homemaker to her family. Shirley was a loving mother and the most important to her was her family.

She is survived by son, Morgan Hobbs (Jennifer) of Peru, Indiana; daughter, Kristina Arney of Urbana, Indiana; brothers, Jim Gatchel and Foster Gatchel Jr. both of Wabash, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, Joshua Hobbs and Shana Rowe both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and three great grandchildren, Madlynn Rowe, Shane Hobbs, and Isabella Hobbs. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Hobbs, two brothers, and six sisters.

Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Preferred memorials are directed to American Heart Association.
