Phyllis I. (McCollister) Bowman

Phyllis I. Bowman, 78, LaFontaine passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Wabash Skilled Care Center in Wabash, Indiana. She was born to Floyd W. and Martha (Darrah) McCollister on February 13, 1933 in Grant County, Indiana.

She retired in 1995 as a Welder from Fisher Body (General Motors) in Marion, Indiana. She was formerly married to Charles D.  Bowman, he passed away December 27, 1999. In earlier years, Phyllis enjoyed traveling with friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kimberly) Weaver of Wabash; two sisters, Barbara Sollars of LaFontaine and Doris Working of Wabash; two grandchildren, Joshua Weaver of LaFontaine and Douglas Weaver of Wabash; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, John McCollister.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel 104 S. Main Street, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940. Pastor Rick Smalling will be officiating the services. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Wabash Skilled Care Center, 710 N. East Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992 or LaFontaine Fire Department, 10 Wabash Avenue, LaFontaine, Indiana 46940.
