Grandma Delores,
When my grandmother passed away in 2001, it felt like an endless nightmare.
I was lost, scared, and feeling like I would never be able to be happy ever again.
You opened up your home to me and made me feel like I was one of your own
and I never once felt unwelcome in your presence. I opened up to you when I
wasn't able to do so for anyone else. Your words and smile guided me to be
the person that I am today and I am forever grateful to have known someone
as compassionate, caring, and loving as you. You were such a beacon of light
for me, your family, your many pets, and countless others who have known you.
You always knew what to say and the right time to give me a hug. When I cried,
there was no one else I would want to talk to than you, Julie, and Malinda. It was
clear that no matter what, you supported my decisions and cared for me in such
dire times that I resolved to help others as you have once helped me. I only hope that one day, I can feel like I made you proud. I may not be able to make it to see you right now but my spirit Is with you now forever. My heart is with everyone alive,
because we are missing you but you will never truly leave us. I love you very much.
